Black Tide Darkens Rapids Rise

Fourth week into the Wellington Volleyball League, and the Rapids Men’s team seem to be improving on every game. Eagles Victoria Black proved to be slick competition as they stunnned the Rapids in the first set. Admitedly, the Rapids seemed road weary and jaded. They knew what was at steak with the second set luming, and that was to compete, and they did. Coming close to taking the second set, it was all undone with marginal errors (like hitting objects surrounding the court, basketball hoop, ceiling and the beams). being 2 - nil down, the fight was on, with an outstanding match from Middle Hitter Herbert Faitele, who continuosly out played his opposition with great blocking, and quick hitting. But it wasn’t enough going down 23 - 25 in the third and final set. Rapids will face the Blacks again in this weekends Central Zone, and will hope to be able to repay the favour.
