Posted by Rapids Volleyball on Thursday, September 6, 2007

New Zealand Women’s Team has been beaten by Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), champions of the 2005 Universiade in Izmir, Turkey, and third at the Asian Games. The first game for NZL in the 14th Asian Snr Women’s Volleyball Champs has ended with a 3-Nil defeat, and an excerpt from Bangkok’s Independant Newspaper mentions “(Taiwan)… showed no mercy to outsiders New Zealand, thrashing the inexperienced rivals 25-19 25-6 25-13.” NZL’s next game is against a strong Kazakhstan outfit. Australia also didn’t fair too well against Thailand losing also in 3 straight sets in front of a full house.
